Steve David took himself out of contention with a penalty before the start and opened the door for Jimmy Shane to race to his second H1 Unlimited Oryx Cup UIM World Championship in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday.

David, who steered the Oh Boy! Oberto/Miss Madison to his third preliminary heat win of the race earlier in the day, tried to steal lane one from Shane during the score-up period but did not have the five-boat-length overlap required to change lanes.

Deck-to-Deck
Coming or going, the Oh Boy! Oberto/Miss Madison and Graham Trucking (pictured) are waging some of the best deck-to-deck racing in years this week at the H1 Unlimited Oryx Cup UIM World Championships on Doha Bay in Doha, Qatar. Through qualifying and three head-to-head heats, the boats have been separated by a little more than a boat length on the water. The Oryx Cup was to finish this morning after today's presstime for sports. For updates, visit our website at wwww.madisoncourier.com. (H1 Unlimited photos by Chris Denslow)
